Mud and Bullets March 20, 2007 Iain Summers 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
For an immersive experience the Wii is by far the best option. Other reviewers have talked of accuracy and lagging problems? I have experienced neither and I'm currently struggling through the penultimate mission. No mention either is made of the imaginative use of the Wii remote which really gets you into the game. It's such a striking feature that it's suprising that anyone who'd actually played the game would miss it out of a review?
Graphical power doesn't hide the fact that combination button pushing has been consigned to history, a fact you'll acknowledge within 5 minutes of playing this great title.
Amazing with only 1 flaw....... March 6, 2007 R. Scott (England) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Graphics are amazing. Your bought straight into the warzone at the start of the game and you even get a little tutorial. If bombs go off beside you your ears go funny and you get a high pitch noise in your head as if you're actually there. Another smart extra is the enemy are clever, they don't do the same thing everytime like most army games do and they also throw you're grenades back if they don't blow up fast enough in the harder modes. Well worth buying, but, like I said in title there's a flaw. Sometimes the Wii remote messes up and it makes you run or it "lags" which obviously results in you being killed. You can always start the level again or do it from a checkpoint so it's not to bad, just a bit annoying. Nevertheless it's the best game I have on the Wii.
call of juty at its best December 23, 2006 dan w (bournmouth england) 30 out of 40 found this review helpful
this game is great it has supurb graphics. it actually feels like your in a war. with bullets wizzing past your head and you never get hit.call of juty is still the best ww11 shooter around with the wii remote and nunchuk serve to enchance the experience. with a multiplayer mode it would be pure gold.if you are chossing out of this game and red steel i would by this game by the slightest of margines.but buy red steel if you want a multiplayer mode.
good points
. the scenery is amazing you will believe you are there
. the wii remote and nunchuk have been used brilliantly
. the action never stops for more than a minute
. the enemies are preety intelligent
bad points
. theres no multiplayer mode

CoD 3 - A solid launch title December 9, 2006 Blizzardbomb 121 out of 127 found this review helpful
Firstly, I must point out that Call of Duty 3 does NOT have any kind of multiplayer mode. So if you want a multiplayer FPS, look away now.
OK, now that's out the way, Call of Duty 3 has been frequently called the best launch title FPS that you can buy for the Wii. I can say with confidence that the controls are spot-on (and much better than Red Steel's) and although for the first few minutes, the only things that should be worried are the sky, the floor and the walls, you'll soon be head-shotting Germans with a bit of practice.
The missions are varied and enjoyable, most taking full use of the Wii-Mote and nunchuk. Some of the highlights include driving missions, rowing a boat, setting up explosive charges and more.
Graphically, we're talking Xbox textures, Xbox effects, Xbox polygon counts. Sound is where Call of Duty 3 excels. Hearing your allies chatter and bullets zip past your head create a great atmosphere.
Now this is a launch title so it isn't without it's flaws...
1) At the beginning of some levels (and every now and again in the middle of a level) there's about 5 - 10 seconds where the Wii-Mote fails to respond to anything (normally ending up in the screen spinning in circles).
2) While the frame rate is solid 99% of the time, it can and will fall at big battles.
3) Cut scenes can't be skipped, no matter how many times you've seen them.
4) A bit on the short side, but difficulty levels will keep you coming back (unlike Red Steel).
5) No multiplayer!
So I highly recommend this game if you want an FPS for the Wii's launch window. Once you're done with it sell it, and there will be a better FPS (hopefully with online play) around the corner. If you don't plan on buying this but like FPSs, this title would make a great rental. If you have an Xbox 360, skip the Wii version and get it for 360 instead as it has better graphics and multiplayer support.
